Pierre Descheemeaker - Partner Lathan & Watkins

Pierre Descheemaeker is a partner in the Paris office of Latham & Watkins and is Chair of the Paris office's Corporate Department. He assists a broad range of businesses and entrepreneurs in developing their business strategy. He is active in mergers and acquisitions, in particular with respect to acquisitions and financing of real estate. He also advises his clients on international business transactions.

Mr. Descheemaeker joined Latham & Watkins on October 1, 2001, the date of the combination with Stibbe Paris, where he was a partner since 1994. Prior to joining the Paris office of Stibbe, he practiced law initially within the New York and Paris offices of Cleary Gotlieb Steen & Hamilton, concentrating in particular on international mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, banking and finance, with a special emphasis on the fields of mining as well as oil and gas exploration and production.

Gilles Dupin - Managing director of Groupe Monceau

Gilles Dupin has been managing director of Groupe Monceau since 1995. He is also the administrator of the economic interest grouping (GIE) revolving around Monceau, and serves as manager of the investment trusts.

At the outset of 1987 Gilles Dupin joined the Victoire group, taking on the functions of general secretary and manager for strategy and planning.

In 1991, he took over responsibility for the Belgian and Luxemburg-based operations of the Victoire group; he was placed in charge of technical re-establishment and operational development.

Managing director – general manager of Victoire Belgium, president of Vinci Belgium Holding, president of Vic-Life (Luxemburg), he was also named director general of AXA Belgium when Victoire Belgium was bought out by the AXA group.

Gilles Dupin is an engineer holding a degree from the Ecole polytechnique, a graduate of the Paris-based Institut d’études politiques (economy and finances), a chartered member of the institute of French actuaries and likewise a member of the royal association of Belgian actuaries.

Charles-Antoine Janssen

After studying law at the Free University of Brussels, Charles-Antoine Janssen spent more than five years with Schroders and Merrill Lynch in London.
He was a vice-president in the Equities Research and Strategic Solution groups at Merrill Lynch.
He then devoted one year to the launch of a start-up specialized in computer sciences and finance.

Since 2001, he is heading the Business Development Department at UCB Pharma in Brussels.

Christopher Warnock - CEO and CTO Ebrary

Prior to co-founding ebrary, Christopher Warnock consulted at Stanford University, where he helped develop a method in which University Presses could implement an electronic workflow solution for electronic distribution of publications.

He also provided feasibility research for Octavo Corporation, which publishes and preserves rare books and manuscripts using advanced digital tools and formats.
From 1991-1996, he worked at Adobe Systems as a systems engineer, project manager, and product marketing manager for Adobe Acrobat.

Christopher Warnock holds a B.S. in Philosophy from the University of Utah.
